The Value of Business Cards February 4th, 2008
Business Cards can help people remember your company name, number and other vital information. These are some things you may want to remember:
- Business cards printed at home from your own computer may seem relatively cheap, but they are no match for high quality products from a professional printing company.
- Many professional services will charge you $20 - $50 for the base card printing and then only a few bucks per thousand (or 10,000) after that. You can take advantage of this by buying large amounts of business cards at once.
- Unique is good! A unique design will catch the eye of potential clients. Some services let you create them online or even upload your own images.
- The standard size is used for a reason. Do not try to invent a new size for business cards. The standard size is the only one that fits well in the business card sleeves. The standard size is the only size that is easily scanned (more about scanning later). The standards size is that size for a reason. Use your creativity in designing the card, not in redesigning the size of the card.
- Include information about you and what you do. How many times have you gone through your pockets and found a name and number with no other information? A business card without any useful information is going to make your prospective client confused, not informed.
- Use the space on the back of the card. Many printers will allow you to put some information on the back of your business card for a small fee. This is a good place to put your company tag line or motto.
- Pictures are good. If you are having a professional print your card, consider putting your picture on it. ALWAYS include your company logo. If your logo and possibly your picture are included, soon your customers will learn your face and your name. They will know what you do and how to find you. Pictures help people remember.
